The Music

The core of 7-72's music is always based on live improvisations. I believe that this kind of music should be played and not programmed. To maintain an organic and expressive feel, I also avoid using quantization or a metronome.

An improvisation is always prepared by creating sounds with hardware synthesizers and developing a rough idea of how these sounds could be used and combined. The recording of the improvisation that follows this initial idea is always a one-take. If I don't like the result, I delete the recording and start again. Once I have recorded a version that feels right, I refine and mix the recording, but without changing the core of the improvisation.

The music of 7-72 is primarily intended as a medium to allow the listener to develop images in their imagination that are accompanied by the music.
